Rendering of Riverwalk 8 at 460 Main Street in Roosevelt Island

Construction will soon begin on Riverwalk 8, the eighth building within Roosevelt Island’s Riverwalk rental complex. With groundbreaking imminent, YIMBY has the exclusive reveal for the first renderings of the project.

Eventually, the complex will include nine individual buildings.

Designed by Handel Architects, Riverwalk 8 at 460 Main Street will top-out at 21 stories, and contain 341 apartments. No parking structure will be included in this latest phase of development.

The entire complex arrives as a joint venture between The Related Companies and Hudson Companies who most recently wrapped up construction of Riverwalk 7 at 480 Main Street. The 21-story, 200,000-square foot rental tower was also designed by Handel Architects and included 266 rental units.

  1. Sounds like a good project. Are they high rise luxury units or affordable housing? Is Roosevelt Island the New Long Island City? I have yet to visit Roosevelt Island. It is on my to do list

  2. Please pardon me for using your space: In order to control me to see design, gloss on glass very well push its beautiful out.

  3. Is there a height limit on RI ? Never understood why RI can’t have a few taller buildings to break up the plateau.
