Permits have been filed for a five-story apartment building at 553 Lafayette Avenue, in Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn. Located on an interior lot between Bedford Avenue and Nostrand Avenue, the site is steps away from the G train at the Bedford-Nostrand Avenues subway station. One block east is the Herbert Von King Park and the Hattie Carthan Community Garden. Noam Amos of AUM Group is listed as the owner behind the applications.
The proposed 50-foot tall development with 6,553 square feet will have have 4,998 square feet designated for residential space. This boutique project will most likely be rentals as the seven residences will have an average size of 714 square feet apiece. Plans for the masonry structure also include a 34-foot long rear yard and a cellar.
Yosef Melamed of Melamed Architect PC is listed as the architect of record.
No demolition permits have been filed as of yet. An estimated completion date has not been announced.
