Permits have been filed for a 12-story new construction development with supportive housing at 972 Washington Avenue in Morrisania, The Bronx. Located between East 163rd and East 164th Streets, the interior site is about four blocks east of the Melrose Station on the Metro North. Less than a mile east from the venture is the Intervale Avenue subway statio,n serviced by the 2 and 5 trains. Jacob Barak of Postgraduate Center for Mental Health is listed as the owner, and his organization provides mental healthcare services in New York City, with 16 buildings in their real estate portfolio.
The proposed building will yield 83,811 square feet, with 77,364 square feet designated to community facility space. With 107 supportive housing units created, the 122-foot tall structure will also have accessibility to on-site services and a rear yard 39 feet long.
Claudia Goudas, partner of EQ Architecture PLLC is listed as the architect of record.
No demolition permits have been filed as of yet. An estimated completion date has not been announced.
