Permits have been filed for a new four-story mixed-use residential building at 549 61st Street in Sunset Park, Brooklyn. City Building NY Architect P.C. is listed as the applicant of record and the filing representative. The new structure will be made with a steel frame and yield just over 5,400 square feet of newly built space. The property is located between Fourth Avenue and Fifth Avenue and is less than five minutes away from the N and R train at 59 Street Station. Leif Ericson Park is about a five-minute walk to the south beyond the elevated I-278 Belt Parkway.

The residential portion will occupy about 4,200 square feet and come with five dwellings, averaging nearly 840 square feet each. These would probably be rental units. Part of the interiors will also feature community facilities totaling 1,233 square feet. The project will sit on the 2,725-square foot lot, rise 44 feet tall, and come with a 32-foot long rear yard.

A rendering and completion date for 459 61st Street have not been released and announced yet.

  1. Please pardon me for using your space: I believe in your words strongly that a new four-story mixed-use residential building is development. (Thank you)

  2. Is there plenty of shit to tear down around here, they had to level a nice 4 story walk-up?
