Work is expected to wrap up this spring at Houston House, a new condominium development in the East Village. Lee Properties Group has released a new set of renderings as the project comes to a close. Located at Houston and East 2nd Street, the building’s official address is 298 East 2nd Street.
The nine-story structure is designed by Zakrzewski + Hyde Architects and contains six full-floor condos and a duplex townhouse. Each home features triple-pane, floor-to-ceiling windows to improve internal sound quality and temperature control, custom Italian millwork, energy recovery ventilators, and private outdoor space. Residents will also have access to a roof terrace and shared bike storage.
Upon completion, the property will be one of the city’s latest Passive House-accredited structures. This voluntary accreditation is awarded to buildings that adhere to strict ecological guidelines including ultra-low energy expenditure when in full operation, airtightness, thermal comfort during both peak and minimum temperatures, and have a certain percentage of renewable energy mechanicals throughout the complex.
