Permits have been filed for an 41-story hotel at 140 Fulton Street in the Financial District, Manhattan. Located between Nassau Street and Broadway, the interior lot is one block from the Fulton Street subway station, serviced by the 2, 3, 4, 5, A, C, J, and Z trains. Hidrock Properties is listed as the owner behind the applications.

The proposed 419-foot-tall development will yield 139,373 square feet, with 119,758 square feet designated for hotel units. The steel-based structure will also have retail on the first floor.

Steven Oakley of Stonehill & Taylor is listed as the architect of record.

Demolition permits will likely not be needed as the lot is vacant. An estimated completion date has not been announced.

  1. Please pardon me for using your space: Climate change by 41-story hotel. (Hello YIMBY)

  2. It seems the photo of the site might be out of date and with Google that wouldn’t be unusual. According to the Real Deal, the abutting, 5-story property formerly occupied by a restaurant at first floor, is also part of the development site. Twice damaged by fire, it’s reported to have been condemned by the City. If correct, demolition of this property would seem to be necessary before the new work can proceed.

  3. There is currently a new construction fence spanning both 140 and 142 Fulton. It seems 142 Fulton will be demolished as part of this project.

And it’s not “one block” from Fulton Station; it’s on top of it and 40 feet from the entrance.
