Permits have been filed for a seven-story mixed-use building at 1544 Shakespeare Avenue in Morris Heights, The Bronx. Located between the Cross Bronx Expressway and Featherbed Lane, the corner lot is three blocks west of the Mt. Eden Avenue subway station, serviced by the 4 train. Highbridge Community Development Corporation is listed as the owner behind the applications.
The proposed 70-foot-tall development will yield 95,455 square feet, with 83,463 square feet designated for residential space, 8,877 square feet for commercial space, and 3,115 square feet for community facilities. It will have 110 residences, most likely rentals based on the average unit scope of 758 square feet. The concrete-based structure will also have a cellar.
SLCE Architects is listed as the architect of record.
Demolition permits were filed in April of this year. An estimated completion date has not been announced.
