Crown Heights-based company Happy Living Development will soon launch sales for a collection of 39 residences at Luna, a new condominium building in Gowanus, Brooklyn. With occupancy expected by the end of the year, the developer has also announced the opening of a sales gallery and model residence for prospective buyers.
Luna is located at 229 9th Street and was designed by Luca Andrisani, a prominent architect known for his work with retailers like Prada, Fendi, and Christian Dior. From outside-in, Andrisani’s prior experience is evidenced in the building’s stylishly designed residences and a collection of amenity spaces that are evocative of a high-end showroom or a gallery.
Andrisani also uses arches as a reoccurring geometric element throughout the building. The façade of the building incorporates a series of windows and passageways from ground floor to pinnacle. Within, the condominium units feature open layouts, high ceilings, and wide-plank white oak flooring in living spaces. The large arched windows will undoubtedly bathe each home in swaths of light.
Amenities include a rooftop terrace, a fitness center, a party room with a prep kitchen and an adjacent outdoor terrace, a game room, a children’s playroom, a library and co-working lounge, a pet spa, on-site parking, and storage facilities for both bicycles and packages.
“New York City has historically looked to Europe for inspiration, especially when it comes to classical architecture,” Andrisani said. “While the arch has been present since the 19th century, Luna takes on the arch motif with a modern approach and materials. We used oversized and elongated bricks and parabolic arches in different sizes, resulting in diverse interior spaces and a dynamic façade.”
The Aguayo Team, a division of Halstead Development Marketing, will oversee sales at Luna, where prices will range from $550,000 to $3 million.
