Permits have been filed for a 15-story residential building at 161 Broome Street on the Lower East Side of Manhattan. Located between Clinton Street and Attorney Street, the lot is four blocks east of the Delancey Street-Essex Street subway station, serviced by the F, M, J, and Z trains. Grand Street Guild Housing Development is listed as the owner behind the applications.

The proposed 152-foot-tall development will yield 770,992 square feet, with 744,792 square feet designated for residential space, 15,000 square feet for commercial space, and 11,200 square feet for community facility space. The building will have 232 residences. The concrete-based structure will also have a cellar and 126 enclosed parking spaces.

David Middleton of Handel Architects is listed as the architect of record.

Demolition permits were filed in December of last year. An estimated completion date has not been announced.

  1. You are punctual and I think punctuality is important for you and me, or everybody. We don’t need to according to pundit, or rules of punctilio. But these manners we can touch it, about how people get good responsibilities from others. Look and read, finish and say thank you according to romantic film. (Thanks to Michael Young)

  2. Every time an empty lot gets developed, an angel loses its wings.
