Permits have been filed for an eight-story residential building at 150-13 89th Avenue in Jamaica, Queens. Located at the intersection of 153rd Street and 89th Avenue, the lot is near the Sutphin Boulevard subway station, serviced by the F train. Chetrit Group is listed as the owner behind the applications. In 2015, YIMBY reported the same developer’s proposed redevelopment of Mary Immaculate Hospital on the block-long site, a 16-story rental complex with 339 apartments.

The proposed 80-foot-tall development will yield 517,090 square feet designated for residential space. The building will have 207 residences, most likely condos based on the average unit scope of 2,498 square feet. The concrete-based structure will also have a cellar.

Hill West Architects is listed as the architect of record.

Demolition permits were filed in early 2019. An estimated completion date has not been announced.

  1. Grace and peace. I am looking for affordable apartment for my elder son. He works for the city, but rent is too high for him to manage on his own. That’s why he is still here. Please keep me informed for studio, 1 or 2 bedrooms apartment so he can move. Thank you. Ps he’s not a bad son. Just need to be on us own at 38. Thank you again.
