Exterior work is getting close to completion at Extell’s Brooklyn Point, aka 1 City Point, in Downtown Brooklyn. Designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox with SLCE Architects as the architect of record, the 68-story, 720-foot-tall skyscraper stands topped out as the tallest structure in the borough. The project is also addressed as 138 Willoughby Street and is the third and final phase of the City Point complex, aka 445 Albee Square. Katherine Newman is designing the interior spaces including the 458 units, which range from studios to three-bedroom layouts with pricing from $850,000 to nearly $4 million.
Photos from around the neighborhood show the façade largely finished, with only the podium floors coated in the protective blue film. The exterior hoist is still attached to the western elevation, but should be disassembled in the coming months.
Brooklyn Point’s amenities span 40,000 square feet and include al fresco dining facilities, changing rooms, showers, and an outdoor movie screen. The podium floors will contain an indoor health and wellness center with a 65-foot-long saltwater pool, a 35-foot-high rock climbing wall, a yoga studio, a pilates and cycling studio, a squash and basketball court, a spa with an infrared sauna, men’s and women’s steam rooms, and a hot tub. The most noteworthy amenity is the 27-foot-long saltwater infinity pool on the roof deck. Designed by MNLA, it is perched 680 feet high on the northern corner of the skyscraper facing Manhattan, and is the highest infinity pool in the Western Hemisphere.
The City Point complex also features two other residential towers designed by COOKFOX, an indoor mall on the podium floors with outlets like Target and Century 21, and an underground food court with an adjacent Trader Joe’s. All three buildings feature distinct curtain wall designs, but maintain a cohesive modern aesthetic characterized by large windows and metal façade paneling.
Brooklyn Point should be fully completed well before the end of the year.

Is nothing happening in Manhattan right now? Has the pinnacle on 111 W 57 St been completed? Have the exterior crane and passenger / goods hoist been removed yet? A photo update for this project would be welcome.
You sound so entitled. You do not pay for this service.
No, not entitlement – expectation which YIMBY has done such a sterling job in creating.
