Permits have been filed for a four-story residential building at 138 Schaefer Street in Bushwick, Brooklyn. Located between Evergreen Avenue and Central Avenue, the interior lot is four blocks from the Wilson Avenue subway station, serviced by the L train. Frontgate Management under the 138 Schaefer LLC is listed as the owner behind the applications.
The proposed 55-foot-tall development will yield 7,686 square feet, with 5,924 square feet designated for residential space. The building will have eight residences, most likely rentals based on the average unit scope of 740 square feet. The steel-based structure will also have a cellar, penthouse, and a 35-foot-long rear yard.
S. Wieder Architect PC is listed as the architect of record.
Demolition permits were filed in March 2020 for the walk-up apartment building on the site. An estimated completion date has not been announced.
