YIMBY stopped by 540 Fulton Street to check on the progress of the 511-foot-tall skyscraper in Downtown Brooklyn. Façade work appears to have stalled on the topped-out mixed-use tower, which is designed by Marvel Architects and developed by Jenel Management. Located at the corner of Fulton Street and Flatbush Avenue, the 43-story project will yield 330,000 square feet, with 239,142 square feet spread across 327 residential units, as well as 71,844 square feet of commercial space and 22,054 square feet of retail on the podium floors. Zebian International Façade Solutions is the manufacturer for the glass and metal curtain wall.

Photos show the glass façade on the northern elevation in the same state as in January, when YIMBY last visited the site.

The eastern and western concrete walls are finished and will remain blank. It is possible that the two low-rise structures that flank 540 Fulton Street could eventually give way for new towers of comparable height.

The curtain wall on the backside of the building has risen significantly since the January update. The best place to see the southern face of the structure is from along Livingston Street.

Retail space will be located on the first and second floors; offices will occupy the third through eighth floors; and residences, which will include 96 affordable units, will span the tenth through the 43rd stories. Amenities include a lounge, a fitness center, and an outdoor roof terrace with views of Downtown Brooklyn’s evolving skyline.

540 Fulton Street is still slated to be finished in October 2020. We will continue to keep an eye on the pace of construction, which hopefully should pick up soon.

  1. There was a stop work order on the building in January or February before the covid-19 construction shut-down.

How many new units for Brooklyn and the boroughs? Would be great to get a quarterly count if possible. I believe Yimby does a permit count.

  3. Just curious who the manufacturer is for the thousands of “little clips” used to keep the glass panels from falling onto the sidewalk below?
Amazed that’s how these are installed? I would have thought there would be something stronger! ?

    Fulton STREET, not Avenue

  5. Pichler makes some of those clips. They’re stronger than they look and depending on the building can be cast directly into the concrete.

  6. What the price and how many bedrooms& bathroom
