New renderings have been revealed for the third phase of renovations to Barclays Center in Prospect Heights, Brooklyn. Designed by Populous for Brooklyn Sports & Entertainment, the $150 million project will modernize portions of the concourse, add new club areas, and overhaul the facility’s broadcast and production equipment. The arena is bounded by Atlantic Avenue to the north, Dean Street to the south, 6th Avenue to the east, and Flatbush Avenue to the west.

Improvements to the main atrium will include the addition of a 180-degree LED wall and contemporary art installations by Sarah Sze. Work will also enhance the box office with dedicated ticket resolution and guest services areas.

The project will add the Amex Lounge, a suite level club for American Express platinum card members accommodating more than 200 guests above the main atrium. The space will offer lounge seating, a full private bar with specialty cocktails, and panoramic views overlooking the surrounding neighborhood.

In addition, cardholders will be given access to a new dedicated entrance along Flatbush Avenue. Another doorway will provide VIP entry serving the suite level and Gallagher Terrace.

The upgrades will also include a new 360-member Event Level Club spanning over 9,000 square feet, along with elevated culinary offerings with interactive show kitchens.

On the technology front, the project will overhaul the facility’s broadcast and game presentation systems, which date to 2012. Upgrades will include new broadcast cameras, instant replay systems, and improved graphics and production equipment.

Temporary scaffolding will be installed in the atrium, and a satellite box office will operate on the Ticketmaster Plaza.

“This next phase of our arena transformation continues our commitment to elevate the experience for every guest who walks through our doors,” said Shanon Ferguson, chief hospitality officer, Brooklyn Sports & Entertainment. “From a completely reimagined arrival experience in the main atrium to the new American Express Card Member Entrance and Lounge, we are creating spaces that feel welcoming, seamless and distinctly Brooklyn.”

The arena is located above Atlantic Avenue—Barclays Center station, served by the 2, 3, 4, 5, B, D, N, Q, R, and W trains, as well as the Long Island Rail Road (LIRR).

Construction is expected to be completed in time for the start of the 2026-27 Brooklyn Nets season.
