Permits have been filed for a 14-story residential building at 1965 Lafayette Avenue in Unionport, The Bronx. Located between White Plains Road and Pugsley Avenue, the through lot is also addressed as 1940 Turnbull Avenue. The Parkchester station, serviced by the 6 train, is the nearest subway station. Joshua Siegel under the PL Sara LLC is listed as the owner behind the applications.

The proposed 145-foot-tall development will yield 112,482 square feet, with 101,354 square feet designated for residential space. The building will have 154 residences, most likely rentals based on the average unit scope of 658 square feet. The concrete-based structure will also have a cellar but no accessory parking.

  2. The 21-story building is not getting demolished. New construction will occur on the existing western parking lot.

  3. Thanks for clarifying that the existing high-rise apartment building is not to be demolished!
    And neither the existing nor the new tower require costly parking facilities.
