Permits have been filed for a 17-story mixed-use building at 5123 Beach Channel Drive in Far Rockaway, Queens. Located between Beach 53rd Street and Beach 54th Street, the interior lot is a short walk to the Beach 44 Street-Frank Avenue subway station, serviced by the A train. Arker Companies under the Peninsula Rockaway LP is listed as the owner behind the applications. The developer recently filed permits for 5119 Beach Channel Drive, a neighboring new construction site also part of the Peninsula Hospital Redevelopment.

The proposed 180-foot-tall development will yield 193,210 square feet, with 140,000 square feet designated for residential space and 21,782 square feet for commercial space. The building will have 194 residences, most likely rentals based on the average unit scope of 721 square feet. The concrete-based structure will also have 133 enclosed parking spaces.

Ariel Aufgang of Aufgang Architects is listed as the architect of record.

Demolition permits will likely not be needed as the lot is vacant. An estimated completion date has not been announced.

  1. They need to be affordable housing because they build up in the poor community and it wouldn’t be affordable they affordable is 40,000 a year low income is 25,000 a year everything is always about money greedy they need to build malls stores

  2. Mafia. police get paid first

  3. I just hope that it does not look like the current monstrosities that are being built in Downtown Far Rockaway. Also, by the way how are you going to built a mixed retail development when the community planning advisors allowed the city (DeBlasio) to place every homeless shelter or whoring hotel in the immediate vicinity. At least three near this development and at least three in Far Rockaway and they were built right before the larger developements.
