Full demolition permits have been filed for 409 Park Avenue in Midtown, Manhattan. According to the filing, the site is owned by GDSNY under the Clover Park Development LLC. It currently houses a 4,300-square-foot, two-story commercial building used by Stefano Ricci, an Italian menswear boutique. The 23-foot-tall structure was built in 1910.
GDSNY also owns 417 Park Avenue, the 8,725-square-foot lot to the left and filed demolition permits for the site last July. GDSNY and Klövern AB of Sweden paid $184 million for all the units of the co-op building at 417 Park Avenue. Located at the intersection of East 55th Street and Park Avenue, the adjacent lots are within the perimeters of the Midtown East Rezoning. The regulations allow for office buildings with a floor-area ratio of 25, or nearly 220,000 square feet. No future plans have yet been announced.
409 Park Avenue is located four blocks from the Lexington Avenue-53rd Street subway station, serviced by the E, M, and 6 trains.
