Times Square is now home to the newest edition of Margaritaville’s international lodging portfolio. The latest property, Margaritaville Resort Times Square, is located at 560 Seventh Avenue in Manhattan and officially opened its doors this summer.

The building rises 32 stories above 40th Street and houses 234 guest rooms, five restaurants and bars, a year-round outdoor heated pool, and a ground-floor Margaritaville retail store. Dining options include the two-story Margaritaville Restaurant that features New York’s largest tiki bar and a 32-foot replica of the Statue of Liberty with margarita in her torch hand.

As expected, a soundtrack of Jimmy Buffet classics will be on rotation.

“The opening of Margaritaville Resort Times Square is an incredible moment for the hundreds of team members involved in this property and for the city of New York after such a challenging year,” said Sharif El-Gamal, chairman and CEO of Soho Properties and owner and developer of Margaritaville Resort Times Square. “This resort will provide an unparalleled getaway never before experienced in Manhattan and we are thrilled to be welcoming guests today and for years to come.”

The project team also includes Margaritaville Hospitality Group, Flintlock Constructions Services, and IMCMV Holdings for the property’s food, beverage, and retail concepts. Total construction costs hover around $370 million.

Manhattan-based design studio Stonehill Taylor and interior designer The McBride Company were retained to complete the look and feel of the building. The 32-story glass-clad structure features a multi-story podium, a series of cantilevered blocks that help maximize interior floor area, several open-air recreational terraces, and an ornamental concrete crown.

Margaritaville and The McBride Company developed custom artwork for the property. Pieces include the “Dripping 5 o’Clock,” a nod to Salvador Dali’s famous clock painting, and a Roy Lichtenstein-inspired print titled “Darling…This Looks Just Like Margaritaville” that pays homage to Lichtenstein’s famous work Masterpiece, Margaritaville, and the nearby Jones Beach.

“We cannot wait to welcome local New Yorkers and the city’s global travelers to Margaritaville Resort Times Square,” said Margaritaville Time Square general manager Kori Yoran. “The resort brings paradise to the island of Manhattan and offers something for everyone from families to happy hour with friends.”

I don’t have thinking confused, and I didn’t know what was going on. Until you were revealed these photos, so I didn’t say anything; beautiful view out: Thank you.

  2. why can’t it just be a decent hotel without all the fake stuff about…..people don’t come to NY to be in Tampa?!

    • Agree. It’s not bad but Jimmy Buffet? Can you imagine how sick of his songs the staff will be after a week or two working there? Those poor people. It’s the hotel version of Bubba Gump’s and Red Lobster in NYC.

    • Tampa? Maybe you were thinking Orlando, FL. In any event, NYC in general and Times Sq. in particular are two of the biggest draws on the planet. Visitors are going to love this hotel.

  3. It might be one of the most stupid tourist traps in the City, but the novelty of it is just halarious and I can accept it. ?

  4. soon to be a homeless shelter

  5. Is that painted ceiling above the statue just a grid of ACT? Classy…

  6. no swim up bar?? come on maaaan

  7. At that redundant “upper level terrace level,” isn’t the parapet height next to the dining tables absurdly low, especially for the inebriated, which this place specializes in? Why supplied images, not YIMBY’s own?

  8. Cheeseburger In Hell

They built the first one in KEY WEST FL and it bombed . And Mr. Buffet claims KEY WEST is his home town, many people question this claim. any way GOOD LUCK on this one..

  10. This project is not yet listed on the architect’s website (Foster Partners). I wonder why it is not listed yet. Does anyone have more info?
