Work is now complete on The Six, a 27-story office tower at 106 West 56th Street in Midtown, Manhattan. Designed by Perkins Eastman and developed by private equity firm Savanna along with Hong Kong-based developer Atom Assets, the stepped 403-foot-tall superstructure stands between Sixth Avenue and Seventh Avenue one street south of 57th Street, aka Billionaires’ Row.

Since our last update in March, installation of paneling on the eastern and western sides has concluded and the sidewalk scaffolding has been removed.

The ground level has floor-to-ceiling glass along with signage for the building atop a black metal framework over the revolving doors. There are several tall rectangular windows stacked on the eastern and western profiles of the lower floors that will provide views up and down West 56th Street. Overall, The Six’s visually contrasts with its adjacent neighbors in terms of massing, texture, and materials, bringing a more modern look to the street.

106 West 56th Street’s floors are tailored for smaller companies with the total rentable space measuring around 90,000 square feet. The largest floor plates are found in the bottom half of the building and gradually reduce in size with height due to the northern setbacks. Occupants near the top of the edifice will have views of Central Park and the supertalls of Billionaires’ Row. The nearest transit options to the site are the F train at the 57th Street station on Sixth Avenue and the N, Q, R, and W trains to the west on Seventh Avenue.

The developers of The Six are aiming for LEED certification.

I like that you keep all your photos in one place, which the site had a creative. I rolled up and down on superstructure, so I seized the opportunity to look around act of progress: Thanks to Michael Young.

    • One word many photos in one place creative many place. I rolled up and down on hill of superstructure, all progress: Always Thanks to Michael Young.

  2. They should name this thing “The Frankenstein”.

It’s a combination of new age glass and steel designs that have littered the landscape of New York’s iconic architecture.

There is no imagination and was obviously created with the sole purpose of maximizing profit to the detriment of all New Yorkers.

  3. People who complain about every building with a glass façade need to realize it devalues their opinion when something really hideous comes along. I think this one looks fine, and, as with most of what’s being built now, there will be preservationists 100 years from now arguing to save it.

  4. Very nice! I love the sleek glass with the imposing setbacks.

  5. I seriously doubt this building will generate protests and neighborhood outcry to save it from demolition in the future? ?
Just another glass tower “shoehorned” into a line-up.
    Blah…?

  6. I watched this building during pandemic (pre and post)…. the area is very sketchy and its nice to see a new clean / elegant simple tower rise up.
Haters will hate. Its a clean and simple new addition.
