The affordable housing lottery has launched for The Victoria Tower Residences, a 26-story mixed-use building at 230 West 126th Street in Harlem, Manhattan. Designed by Aufgang Architects, the structure yields 191 residences. Available on NYC Housing Connect are 102 units for residents at 50 to 130 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $28,835 to $167,570.
Residents will have access to a wide range of amenities including doorman service, 24-hour superintendent, shared laundry room, fitness center, lounge, media room, common-area Wi-Fi, rooftop access, and on-site parking. Units come equipped with open-floor layouts, central air and heat, hardwood floors, stainless steel appliances, granite countertops, and private outdoor space.
At 50 percent of the AMI, there are four studios with a monthly rent of $755 for incomes ranging from $28,835 to $47,750; 15 one-bedrooms with a monthly rent of $810 for incomes ranging from $31,098 to $53,700; and 23 two-bedrooms with a monthly rent of $971 for incomes ranging from $37,440 to $64,450.
At 60 percent of the AMI, there is one studio with a monthly rent of $1,089 for incomes ranging from $40,286 to $57,300; 12 one-bedrooms with a monthly rent of $1,167 for incomes ranging from $43,338 to $64,440; and nine two-bedrooms with a monthly rent of $1,398 for incomes ranging from $52,080 to $77,340.
At 130 percent of the AMI, there are five studios with a monthly rent of $2,351 for incomes ranging from $80,606 to $124,150; 14 one-bedrooms with a monthly rent of $2,522 for incomes ranging from $86,469 to $139,620; and 19 two-bedrooms with a monthly rent of $3,043 for incomes ranging from $104,332 to $167,570.
Prospective renters must meet income and household size requirements to apply for these apartments. Applications must be postmarked or submitted online no later than January 10, 2022.

Finally some new construction in West Harlem. For too long the residents have fought off anything new. That is why there is such little housing.
The affordable housing is the building in the back on 126Th street. The market rate building is the nice glass one in the foreground on 125th street. That was not mentioned.
