Permits have been filed for a 12-story mixed-use building at 19 East 198th Street in Bedford Park, The Bronx. Located between Creston Avenue and Jerome Avenue, the lot is closest to the Bedford Park Boulevard subway station, serviced by the 4 train. Mirza Rahman is listed as the owner behind the applications.
The proposed 112-foot-tall development will yield 64,040 square feet designated for residential space with community facility space on the cellar level and parking on the first floor. The building will have 64 residences, most likely condos based on the average unit scope of 1,000 square feet. The concrete-based structure will also have a cellar and 16 open parking spaces.
Angelo Ng + Anthony Ng Architects is listed as the architect of record.
Demolition permits have not been filed yet for the two-story residential building on the site. An estimated completion date has not been announced.

knock down a 2 story building to put up an out of context 12 story building in the middle of the block of low rise homes and to boot include 16 PARKING SPACES ON THIS SMALL LOT?
What greed.
Get a grip man. This is a row of rundown ho-hum two story houses SURROUNDED by 6-7 story apartment buildings foe the last 80 years sandwiched between two rapid transit lines. Its amazing they lasted as long as they did. You should funnel all your energy into belly aching about the sub-par designs many of these affordable developments have (Badaly scar just 2 doors down) instead of acting like density is some sort of foreign presence in the West Bronx of all places.
NFA
it’s too bad these people who live in these two story as you put it “RUNDOWN HO-HUM” houses don’t have your wealth or knowledge to be able to fathom how out of context this building is. I really wonder how your tune and that of many others would change in an instant if out of context developments were being built right next to your home. You would become a NIMBY immediately.
Also with 16 PARKING SPACES, WHY? Why not top out at the height of the nearby 6-7 story buildings? Greed, greed, greed without regard to the neighborhood. It’s all about the almighty dollar.
The only thing out of context in this location is the single family homes and that is in the process of being fixed.
I really wonder how your tune and that of many others would change in an instant if out of context developments were being built right next to your home. You would become a NIMBY immediately.
Hypocrites abound.
