BFC Partners has revealed MRKTPL, a new 15,000-square-foot culinary market at Empire Outlets in St. George, Staten Island. The first phase of retailers at MRKTPL are now open for business with the official grand opening set for later this year.
As described in a statement from BFC Partners, MRKTPL is a new approach to traditional marketplaces with a focus on creating a platform for both established and emerging brands, giving young businesses a place to prosper. Today, MRKTPL offers a mix of Staten Island-based restaurants. Retailers include 100-percent vegan Mexican cuisine Nacho Mama and Filipino breakfast shop Filled Cafe & Silogan, and Mandi House serving a variety of Yemeni cuisine.
“This weekend’s opening of MRKTPL marks an exciting start to the year for Empire Outlets’ food and beverage deck,” said Joseph Ferrara, principal at BFC Partners. “Anchored by these new food offerings, our patrons will soon be treated to an exceptional lineup of dining options, from local Staten Island restaurateurs to new concepts opening in Staten Island for the very first time.”
