Permits have been filed for a seven-story mixed-use building at 575 Grand Street in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Located between Lorimer Street and Leonard Street, the lot is four blocks from the Metropolitan Avenue-Lorimer Street subway station, serviced by the L and G trains. Yitzchok Katz of Developing NY State is listed as the owner behind the applications.

The proposed 75-foot-tall development will yield 93,259 square feet, with 92,098 square feet designated for residential space and 1,160 square feet for commercial space. The building will have 134 residences, most likely rentals based on the average unit scope of 687 square feet. The concrete-based structure will also have a cellar, a 35-foot-long rear yard, and 67 enclosed parking spaces on the first floor. There will also be 15 bicycle parking spaces on the first floor and 52 bicycle parking spaces in the cellar.

NY Building Associates Inc is listed as the architect of record.

Demolition permits were filed in December 2021 for the single-story building on the site. An estimated completion date has not been announced.

  1. This is a pretty large site by Grand Ave standards, should look great. Anytime a single-story commercial structure with a surface parking lot in the middle of a residential or emerging neighborhood gets razed that is a very good thing and cause for celebration. There are still way too many of those around the city.

    • Except there’s only 1k retail space and the parking will be on the ground level.

      • NYC should limit ground level parking in new developments to a max of 1 or 2 spaces. If developers want to build parking it should be below grade wherever possible.
