BNE Real Estate Group was joined by local officials to celebrate the grand opening of Station Bay, a 291-unit rental complex at 1000 Schindler Drive in South Amboy, New Jersey. As the first phase of the $500 million redevelopment project to be completed, Station Bay is now the town’s largest multifamily rental complex and will soon welcome new tenants.
Available units include a mix of studio and one- and two-bedroom apartments. Each unit features 9-foot ceiling spans, hardwood flooring, custom modular closets, and washers and dryers. Select residences also offer private outdoor space and water views.
“With the opening of Station Bay, South Amboy’s waterfront has emerged as a prime destination for those looking to combine the best that New Jersey has to offer with convenient access into New York City,” said Jonathan Schwartz, partner at BNE Real Estate Group. “Having experienced incredible demand for these residences, we are proud to stand alongside South Amboy officials to commemorate the official opening of the first phase of this important, transit-oriented redevelopment project.”

Amenity spaces include a lobby-level coffee bar, multiple entertainment lounges, a co-working lounge with private meeting rooms, a multi-sport simulator, a movie theater, an arcade and game lounge, a children’s playroom, a pet spa, a dog run, and a fitness center with separate yoga and spin studios. Residents will also have access to an enclosed parking garage.
Outdoor space includes two large courtyards that include a swimming pool with private cabanas, fire pits, an outdoor bar, private barbecue and dining areas, games, and lawn lounge areas.
“From the very beginning, we shared in BNE’s vision to transform what was once vacant industrial land into a waterfront destination that would bring much needed rental housing to South Amboy,” said Mayor Fred Henry, who joined BNE at the celebratory ribbon cutting. “It’s very important for us to pursue new developments such as Station Bay, which provide attractive housing options and amenities that improve our city.”

Don’t they build nice residential single family homes in NJ anymore? This building seems out of place for South Amboy. It would fit perfectly in densely-populated Jersey City. People in central NJ expect more spacious apartments with balconies. The starting rent cost is almost about $300 higher per month than it should be for the area.
Big changes are coming on the south bank of the Raritan, with this and the Riverton development in Sayreville. Now if they would just do something with the Amboy Cinemas site in between…
Station Bay has the most beautiful sunrises over the Atlantic Ocean & Verrazano Narrows. This is as close as one gets to ocean front living at such an affordable rate!
