67 Vestry Street’s Expansion Tops Out in Tribeca, Manhattan

67 Vestry Street Residential overhaul designed by BP Architects.

Construction has topped out on the vertical expansion of 67 Vestry Street, a 13-story residential building on the Hudson River waterfront in Tribeca. Designed by BP Architects and developed by Iliad Realty Group, the project involves the addition of four stories atop a historic 88,712-square-foot Romanesque structure and will yield 13 condominium units with interiors by Gachot Studios. Urban Atelier Group is the general contractor and King Contracting Group is handling the masonry work for the property, which is located at the corner of Vestry Street and West Street, directly across from Hudson River Park.

At the time of our last update in February, two of the new steel-framed levels had been built and the concrete core stood protruding above the exposed construction. Since then, the remaining stories have been erected around the core and the construction elevator has been extended up to the pinnacle. Black netting and scaffolding cover the entirety of the building, obscuring any views of façade progress on the new upper floors and the restoration of the stonework below. Only the metal framework for the mechanical bulkhead is currently visible.

Corcoran Sunshine Marketing Group is handling sales and marketing for the units, which will range from half- to full-floor loft homes featuring floor-to-ceiling windows with panoramic views of the Hudson River and sunsets over New Jersey. Amenities will include a 50-foot-long lap pool. The closest subways to the site are the 1, A, C, and E trains at the two Canal Street stations to the east.

67 Vestry Street is anticipated to be finished sometime in the first half of 2023.

  1. all the good stuff at the top is hidden: did any changes go into affect or does it still look like a suburban drive in bank placed on top of a classical pre-war structure…….we’ll have to wait for the scaffolding to come down……
