Excavation is progressing at 16 Dupont Street, the site of a 40-story residential tower in the Greenpoint Landing master plan in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. Designed by GKV Architects and developed by Park Tower Group and The Rockefeller Group, the 400-foot-tall structure will yield 365,651 square feet with 378 residences, as well as 2,548 square feet of commercial space and 138 enclosed parking spaces. Monadnock Construction is the general contractor for the property, which is located at the intersection of Dupont, West, and Commercial Streets.

Recent photos show excavators and piling machines in action on the site, which previously sat vacant. Work should continue to descend below street level over the coming months, with the new superstructure likely emerging in the first half of 2023.

YIMBY also spotted a black and white rendering for 16 Dupont Street, most likely depicting the wider northern elevation. The massing features a multi-story podium with stepped setbacks leading to the main tower, which rises uniformly to the roof parapet topped with a mechanical bulkhead. The façade appears to be composed of floor-to-ceiling glass and metal paneling, with a diagrid pattern of narrow beams giving depth to the design. A shallow setback is positioned on the eastern end toward the top of the building.

The closest train to the property is the local G train at the Greenpoint Avenue station to the southeast. The East River waterfront esplanade is located across West Street.

16 Dupont Street is slated for completion in the spring 2025, as noted on the construction board.

  1. It looks kind of bland from the renderings.

A shallow setback is positioned on the eastern end, toward the top of the building. Secretly stand out below its bulkhead, and 40-stories are good which is not called supertall, but high enough to see in the sky: Thanks to Michael Young.

  3. Diagrid pattern of narrow beams?

Those are the symbols that indicate which part of the window opens. They’re not real.
