Accurate, a New Jersey-based developer, recently celebrated the commencement of construction for The Crossings at the Fairfield Metro Center in Fairfield, Connecticut. The complex will include five residential buildings, 357 apartments, a new 118-key hotel, more than 20,000 square feet of retail space, roughly 50,000 square feet of office space, and parking areas for residents and guests.

The site is currently addressed as 219 Ash Creek Boulevard, but spans more than 23 acres of land surrounding the new Fairfield Metro-North train station. The site borders a sprawling surface-level parking lot for Metro-North commuters, the Fairfield Metro Conservation Area, and Ash Creek, which extends north from the Long Island Sound.

The Town of Fairfield originally signed an agreement with a developer 20 years ago, but plans to improve the site never materialized. The new project led by Accurate has gained support from local officials as well as the community and is expected to cost around $145 million.

The town has also made an investment of $45 million to upgrade existing roadways, infrastructure, and other preparations to support the mixed-use complex.

“We are delighted to get to work on this important project, which we believe will create a well-balanced destination with modern residential, retail, commercial, and hospitality fully integrated to enhance connectivity and define a true sense of place,” said president and CEO of Accurate, Jack Klugmann. “We look forward to continuing to work in a collaborative effort with Fairfield’s municipal officials as we pursue a collective vision for this property that will benefit the community at large.”

  1. Jesus, that’s a lot of impermeable surface

  2. it’s a parking lot with a little housing.

  3. Seems a shame not to squeeze more of the parking under the buildings to create more open space. Also, Why not make Building 5 and the Hotel a little taller? They are both in more desirable, central locations closer to the Metro-North Station.
