The second and final phase of The Mint is on track to debut this spring at 84 Monroe Street in Rahway, New Jersey. Developed in partnership by Fields Grade and The Slokker Group and designed by Minno Wasko Architects and Planners, the two-building property will eventually comprise 225 rental apartments.

The second building, referred to as phase two, will add 109 rentals. The first building, located at 81 Monroe Street, opened in 2020 and contains 116 units. Across both buildings, the collection of units ranges from studios up to two-bedroom floor plans.

All of the apartments feature 9-foot ceiling spans, complimentary window treatments, an in-unit washer and dryer, stainless-steel appliances, and hardwood flooring. Select apartments also offer a den and private outdoor space.

“When we first introduced The Mint, we were excited to provide an elevated rental lifestyle in downtown Rahway, which had been growing in appeal thanks to its walkable setting and influx of new restaurants, shops, and theaters enhancing its suburban surroundings,” said Nils Berten, VP USA of Slokker International. “The first phase immediately became the signature rental building in this transit-friendly neighborhood, and we’re delighted to build on that experience with the completion of a new collection of residences and amenities.”

The Mint’s amenity spaces were designed to create a sense of community and comfort.

In the second building, social and recreational spaces include a game room with a dedicated poker room and ping pong and foosball tables. There are also coworking spaces, a conference room, work pods, and a library.

On the building’s sixth floor, residents can enjoy a Sky Lounge offering a bar, televisions, and a pool table. The lounge is also connected to an outdoor terrace with lounge chairs and barbeque grills.

Additional amenity spaces in the second building include another lounge with a billiards table and work cubes, a fitness center with a yoga room and virtual instructor-led classes provided by FitnessOnDemand, and a pet spa. The second floor features a landscaped roof deck with a swimming pool, more grilling and dining areas, and a fire pit with lounge seating.

Tenants in both buildings will have access to the entire collection of amenity spaces and a private parking garage with electric charging stations.
