Construction is in full swing at the Good Samaritan University Hospital campus in West Islip, Long Island, where the medical center will soon debut a 300,000-square-foot patient care pavilion. Led by owner and developer Catholic Health, the development costs hover around $500 million and construction broke ground in May 2022.

The building will eventually top out at four stories with a 75,000-square-foot emergency department, 16 high-tech operating rooms, and 36 patient rooms spread across three floors.

When complete, the building will attach to the existing hospital and create a unified 750,000-square-foot center. Additional scope of work includes an expansion of the hospital’s cafe, a renovated gift shop, and improved internal connection to the emergency department.

Today, the project is on track to debut in 2025.
