Permits have been filed for a nine-story affordable housing building at 63-68 Austin Street in Rego Park, Queens. Located at the intersection of 63rd Drive and Austin Street, the lot is in walking distance of 63rd Drive-Rego Park subway station, serviced by the E, M, and R trains. Yin Chou Hu of AAA General Construction Corp. is listed as the owner behind the applications.
The proposed 94-foot-tall development will yield 63,138 square feet, with 53,383 square feet designated for residential space and 9,755 square feet for commercial space. The building will have 78 residences, most likely rentals based on the average unit scope of 684 square feet. There will be 59 market rate units and 19 affordable housing units. The concrete-based structure will also have a cellar and 33 enclosed parking spaces.
Angelo Ng & Anthony Ng Architects Studio is listed as the architect of record.
Demolition permits were filed in March 2019 for the one-story structure on the site. An estimated completion date has not been announced.
