  1. Depressing.

  2. say goodbye to the last old home on the block because of GREED
Demolish any quaint home left in the Bronx and put up crap instead

  3. It’s a cute charming little house. Reminds me of the old children’s book. Like I’ve said many times, I’m not particularly bothered by it’s demise because that is literally the history of the city, but in particular The Bronx where the six floor apartment house is the dominant vernacular for much of the borough (sans E. Bronx). And the fact little houses like this exist in between them as well as other interior blocks with a hodge-podge SFH’s is kind of a fluke of history. If the Great Depression had not occurred – as well as the socio-economic decline of both the borough and the city – the development pace in the borough would have likely toppled most of them and replacing with dense apartment buildings DECADES ago.

What bothers is the absolute mind numbing aesthetic dreck that gets built in their place by charlatan developers and architects without talent or integrity. For every decent looking Bronx development, there seems to be two horrific assaults on the eyes delivered by a small handful of hack “value architects” like Mohammed Badaly, Gerald Caliendo, Fred Geremia and any firm with “engineering” in their name. These jokers design buildings that are net visual negatives on the “Beautiful Borough” and should be shamed and run out of town.

    • I love how you try and justify it’s demolition with arcane arguments about the Great Depression which occurred in 1929\Give me a break.
It’s about GREED by guys with names like Nikoll Tinaj of 3525 Bruckner Boulevard LLC who only care about $$$$$$ and nothing else.
