Construction is underway at 8 Chester Avenue, the site of a four-story residential building in downtown White Plains. Developed by Keeler Markwood Group, the nearly 60,000-square-foot structure will yield 74 rental units with nine reserved for affordable housing, as well as 40 on-site parking spaces.

8 Chester Avenue is positioned as an affordable alternative to the luxury housing options currently being built in White Plains. Despite this, it plans to include amenities like a rooftop deck and lounge as well as a bicycle storage room for residents.

The main rendering shows the structure clad primarily in red brick framing a grid of large windows. The parking area will sit on the ground floor beneath the three residential levels.

Initially proposed as a medical office building in 2018, the project has evolved into its current plan in tune with the community’s need for more affordable housing. Developers sought financial incentives from Westchester’s Industrial Development Agency to ensure economic viability. The estimated project cost is $21.8 million.

Yes yes i like it Thank you

  2. White Plains does not need more residential buildings- let’s start putting back big name stores. Let’s get a trader joe or wagmans and bring back Walmart.

  3. This is a really smart project in a great location. Can’t wait to see it finished.
