Permits have been filed to expand a three-story structure into a four-story residential building at 1517 St. Marks Avenue in Crown Heights, Brooklyn. Located between Howard Avenue and Saratoga Avenue, the lot is near the Rockaway Avenue subway station, serviced by the A and C trains. Gil Broitman is listed as the owner behind the applications.

The proposed 49-foot-tall development will yield 6,031 square feet designated for residential space. The building will have nine residences, most likely rentals based on the average unit scope of 670 square feet. The masonry-based structure will also have a cellar and a 46-foot-long rear yard.

Chi Wai Chung of Prime Zone Building Consulting is listed as the architect of record.

Demolition permits will likely not be needed as the project calls for a vertical expansion. An estimated completion date has not been announced.
