Permits have been filed to expand a two-story structure into a four-story residential building at 379 Hawthorne Street in Prospect Lefferts Gardens, Brooklyn. Located between Nostrand Avenue and New York Avenue, the lot is near the Winthrop Street subway station, served by the 2 and 5 trains. Shia Unsdorfer is listed as the owner behind the applications.
The proposed 60-foot-tall development will yield 5,947 square feet designated for residential space. The building will have nine residences, most likely rentals based on the average unit scope of 660 square feet. The steel-based structure will also have a penthouse, rooftop terrace, and a 30-foot-long rear yard.
Oleg Ruditser of Engineering Professional Service is listed as the architect of record.
Demolition permits will likely not be needed as the project calls for a vertical and horizontal expansion. An estimated completion date has not been announced.

Uggh.
Should be illegal to pave your front yard & park on it
I like this type of brick townhouse. Is it from pre WWI 20th Century? Understated, but still distinctive.
