Permits have been filed to expand a two-story structure into a four-story residential building at 1180 Park Place in Crown Heights, Brooklyn. Located between Troy Avenue and Albany Avenue, the lot is near the Crown Heights-Utica Avenue subway station, serviced by the 4 train. Reuven Kaminetzky is listed as the owner behind the applications.
The proposed 54-foot-tall development will yield 6,573 square feet designated for residential space. The building will have nine residences, most likely rentals based on the average unit scope of 730 square feet. The steel-based structure will also have a cellar and a 37-foot-long rear yard.
Asher Architect is listed as the architect of record.
Demolition permits will likely not be needed as the project calls for a vertical expansion. An estimated completion date has not been announced.

That expansion on the right is a crime against humanity.
the worst part is that they also mutilated the original part of the townhouse
Meanwhile the LPC is hard at work making sure the rear of a rowhouse that the public will ever see is reduced by 12 inches and uses the correct shade of rust for it’s bricks.
To The Hague!
If the new addition remains consistent like the neighboring extension at 1176 but with a slightly more defined cornice line, it should fit right in within a few years when more of the neighborhood upgrades to taller townhomes.
You have a wonderful way with words, do you write the listings copy? You create a lovely vision of a future when all of these charming townhouses will be permanently mutilated beyond recognition. Good riddance to these pesky preservation districts!
What’s this obsession with the original town house look???
I mean seriously, get over yourself and do something productive
