444 Graham Avenue Wraps Up Construction in Williamsburg, Brooklyn

Construction is finishing up on 444 Graham Avenue, a seven-story residential building in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Developed by Marino Marble & Tiles, the 41,711-square-foot structure yields 57 rental units and 4,560 square feet of ground-floor retail space. The property is located on a 4,570-square-foot interior lot between Richardson Street to the north and Frost Street to the south, and was formerly occupied by a two-story warehouse operated by the developer.

All scaffolding and construction equipment have been removed from the building, revealing the finished look of the exterior. The façade is composed of red brick framing a grid of recessed windows with black mullions, while the windowless northern and southern lot line walls are clad in beige brick. The structure features a setback on the sixth story, creating space for a private terrace. The glass-enclosed ground floor features high ceiling spans for retail space, and the building culminates in a flat roof parapet.

The retail frontage spans 43 feet across the first level and can be divided into two spaces measuring 1,900 and 2,660 square feet. Brown paper sheets temporarily cover the spaces’ floor-to-ceiling windows.

444 Graham Avenue’s residential entrance is positioned at northern edge of the property.

Yeah, I like it. It’s not a Neo-classical palace, but the contemporary design has clean lines, a semi-industrial look. Masonry looks good. NYC can use more infill.

Why do brickwork in New York look so beautiful? I wonder that: Thanks.
