Permits have been filed to expand a two-story structure into a six-story residential building at 663 53rd Street in Sunset Park, Brooklyn. Located between 6th and 7th Avenues, the lot is near the 53rd Street subway station, served by the N and R trains. Toby Eng is listed as the owner behind the applications.
The proposed 69-foot-tall development will yield 7,970 square feet designated for residential space. The building will have ten residences, most likely rentals based on the average unit scope of 797 square feet. The steel-based structure will also have a cellar, a second-floor roof terrace, and a 32-foot-long rear yard.
Jian Yang of Yang Engineering LLC is listed as the architect of record.
Demolition permits will likely not be needed as the project calls for an expansion. An estimated completion date has not been announced.
