The Brooklyn Navy Yard Development Corporation, in partnership with the New York City Economic Development Corporation, has issued a request for proposals seeking a design firm to redevelop the ninth floor of Building 303 in the Brooklyn Navy Yard. The project will deliver new space for companies in deep tech industries, including life sciences and the green economy, expanding the Navy Yard’s advanced manufacturing ecosystem. The property is located at the southwest corner of the complex by the intersection of Perry Avenue and 3rd Street.
The ninth floor of Building 303 was originally intended for a single office tenant and is the last remaining industrial space to be fitted out within the building. In 2024, the Brooklyn Navy Yard Development Corporation secured funding from the New York City Economic Development Corporation to reconfigure the space, enabling the creation of small and medium-sized suites for companies positioned to advance the city’s innovation economy. The redevelopment is intended to provide flexible space for businesses at different growth stages.
Plans for the project include eight subdivided white-box suites, one office space, a shared amenities area, and a specialized research and development suite adaptable as either a life sciences wet lab or an advanced manufacturing clean room.
