Construction is progressing on 151 Freeman Street, a four-story residential building in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. Designed by Pliskin Architecture and developed by LTNG, the structure will yield seven units and a cellar level. The property is located near the corner of Freeman Street and Manhattan Avenue.
The superstructure stands built to the top of the third story, with rebar protruding along the perimeter in preparation for the formation of the roof parapet. The fourth story, which will be set back from the street, is also in the process of being constructed. Scaffolding and blue netting cover the main elevation as crews work to frame out the window grid with CMU blocks. Façade installation has yet to commence.
The below aerial perspective looks east at the structure, showing the progress on the fourth and final story. Scaffolding and netting also cover the rear elevation.
The rendering in the main photo previews a distinctive design with a beveled white façade surrounding a grid of tall windows on floors two and three. The ground floor and fourth story feature a contrasting gray brick envelope with protruding horizontal bonds. A landscaped terrace with trees is depicted atop the fourth-floor setback, and garden beds will flank the central main entrance.
The project’s scope was more than doubled from the following original design from 2021. However, the final dimensions are smaller than the five-story version put forth after the acquisition of the neighboring property to the east, shown in the second rendering below.
The nearest subway from the development is the G train at the Greenpoint Avenue station to the south.
151 Freeman Street’s anticipated completion date is slated for fall 2026, as noted on site.

Why the setback? That looks like feces.
Not any feces I’m familiar with..I like this latest version.
The third design is definitely the best, but yes, why is it set back from the street wall? This makes no sense unless it’s a zoning trick, which must be finally changed. It’s time the new administration updates zoning not only to help foster new construction, but also to make it better.

design-wise…I’ve seen worse. New administration will not change anything, ZM is walking back on all campaign promises, buses will be neither free nor fast and NYPD is here to stay, he’s kind of stealing Cuomo’s platform…
