Permits have been filed to expand a single-story structure into an 11-story mixed-use building at 2102 Union Street in Brownsville, Brooklyn. Located between Sutter and Blake Avenues, the lot is near the Sutter Avenue–Rutland Road subway station, served by the 3 train. David Goldberger of Glowstone Group is listed as the owner behind the applications.

The proposed 112-foot-tall development will yield 62,939 square feet, with 61,271 square feet designated for residential space, 1,203 square feet for commercial space, and 465 square feet for community facility space. The building will have 96 residences, most likely rentals based on the average unit scope of 638 square feet. The concrete-based structure will also have a cellar and 21 enclosed parking spaces.

Amr Ouda of Jay Architect & Engineering DPC is listed as the architect of record.

Demolition permits will likely not be needed as the project calls for a vertical expansion. An estimated completion date has not been announced.

  2. Well, 96 new dwelling units sure beats an ugly grey wall w/ a graffitied garage door🤷‍♂️, but where’s the rendering of the proposed new building?🤔
