Earthwork is unfolding at 265 Wyckoff Street, the site of an 11-story residential building in Boerum Hill, Brooklyn. Designed by Fischer Rasmussen Whitfield Architects and developed by Yitzchook Katz of Goose Property Management, the structure will yield 70 units. The property is located between 3rd Avenue and Nevins Street.

An excavator and two piling machines are working to prepare the site for the forthcoming foundations, which could begin formation sometime this spring.

The above rendering from the info board shows a design matching the three-building sister development at 280 Bergen Street. The façade will be composed of light-gray brick surrounding a grid of rectangular and arched floor-to-ceiling windows and glass doors leading to balconies. Gray paneling will enclose the final three stories above the ninth-floor setback, while the first two stories will feature a darker fenestration with black metal spandrels and window frames. The entrance will be located at the southeast corner of the property.

The below diagram shows 265 Wyckoff’s location in relation to the developer’s concurrent project at 280 Bergen Street.

The four buildings are being financed with the help of a $166 million construction loan, which was acquired by Goose Property Management from Martin Nussbaum and David Schwartz of Slate Property Group about one year ago.

A list of residential amenities has yet to be announced. The nearest subways from the ground-up development are the 2, 3, 4, 5, B, D, N, Q, and R trains at the Atlantic Avenue–Barclays Center station to the east along Flatbush Avenue. This station also serves the Long Island Rail Road (LIRR).

265 Wyckoff Street’s anticipated completion date is slated for winter 2028, as noted on site.

The facade seems to have too much going on.

It’s not a bad design, but this taste for everything grey has grown beyond tired to now becoming a bad joke.
