Permits have been filed for a 32-story mixed-use building at 30 West 37th Street in Midtown South, Manhattan. Located between Fifth and Sixth Avenues, the interior lot is near the 42nd Street–Bryant Park subway station, served by the B, D, F, and M trains. Jack Yadidi of Fy & Sons TIC LLC is listed as the owner behind the applications.

The proposed 418-foot-tall development will yield 85,894 square feet, with 85,440 square feet designated for residential space and 454 square feet for commercial space. The building will have 95 residences, most likely rentals based on the average unit scope of 899 square feet. The concrete-based structure will also have a cellar and a 20-foot-long rear yard.

Damir Sehic of C3D Architecture is listed as the architect of record.

Demolition permits were filed this month for the two-story structure on the site. An estimated completion date has not been announced.

From ugh to hopefully more than a glass box that will enhance the character of this historic neighborhood. Please don’t disappoint.

  3. This area is so gritty. Put in something nice, sleek, and modern. Great to see new activity.

  4. 🤔,…”sleek & modern” are not words one should use to “encourage/inform the design aesthetic”, because for a developer, that translates into; a quick, cheap, glass box. Hopefully the new 32 story bldg is NICE!, but please!, no more glass boxes reminiscent of the junk-bonds-financed office buildings from the 1980’s.

  5. happy that is coming down. developers give us beauty!!! it is your responsibility to give NYC beautiful architecture. Give us arched windows and elegance.

  6. “something nice, sleek, and modern”

    LOL please no

  7. A tremendously worthwhile candidate for replacement.

Too bad the econohotel dreck across the street can’t go with it.

  8. I’m very interested to know if 26 W is part of the assemblage, as it’s begging for it. Or either of the old walkups. I hope those are preserved honestly for characters sake. And please for the love of all things good and pure, please don’t have a setback massing like that horrid mess across the street.
