Financing Closes For Renovation Of Nostrand Houses In Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn

Financing has closed for the $607 million comprehensive modernization of Nostrand Houses, a 16-building public housing development at 2241 Batchelder Street in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn. Led by the New York City Housing Authority, the New York City Public Housing Preservation Trust, and the New York City Housing Development Corporation, the project will fully rehabilitate 1,148 apartments and modernize building systems across the development for approximately 2,000 residents. The scope also includes new elevators, upgraded security systems, enhanced accessibility, and a new on-site property management office staffed by more than 40 personnel.

Permits Filed for 44-61 21st Street in Long Island City, Queens

Permits have been filed for a 15-story mixed-use building at 44-61 21st Street in Long Island City, Queens. Located at the corner of 44th Drive, the lot is one block from the Court Square–23rd Street station, served by the 7, E, and F trains. Zev Mayer of Walton Developers is listed as the owner behind the applications.

Renderings Revealed for Chrysler Building Renovations in Midtown East, Manhattan

The first renderings have been revealed for the recently announced renovation of the Chrysler Building, the 77-story Art Deco icon at 405 Lexington Avenue in Midtown East, Manhattan. Led by Tishman Speyer, which just finalized a $235 million deal to acquire the skyscraper in a joint venture with The Cooper Union, the project will modernize at least 75 percent of the 1.3-million-square-foot structure’s work space and will restore its façade, including the world-famous crown and spire.

Renderings Revealed for 296-Unit Building at 32-02 Linden Place in Flushing, Queens

New renderings have been revealed for 32-02 Linden Place, a proposed ten-story mixed-use residential building in Flushing, Queens. Developed under the Vernon 298 LLC, the structure is slated to span 285,543 square feet and yield 296 apartments, with 75 dedicated to affordable housing. The project will also include ground-floor retail, a parking garage, and bike storage. The L-shaped property is bounded by Linden Place, Farrington Street, and 32nd Avenue.

Lost Battalion Hall Recreation Center Completes Renovations At 93-29 Queens Boulevard In Rego Park, Queens

Construction is finished on Lost Battalion Hall Recreation Center, a two-story recreational building at 93-29 Queens Boulevard in Rego Park, Queens. Designed by 1100 Architect and built by D & S Restoration, Inc. for the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation, the $25.9 million project entailed a top-to-bottom reconstruction of the 36,000-square-foot structure, which now houses a gymnasium with a newly painted basketball court, a weightlifting area, a spin studio, and multipurpose recreation spaces, along with a redesigned entrance and lobby, new locker and changing facilities, and upgraded safety and building systems.
