115 Delancey Street [Bowery Boogie]: Demolition of the existing low-rise warehouse structure located at 115 Delancey Street is imminent, as part of the larger Essex Crossing development in the Lower East Side. Permits were recently filed on behalf of Delancey Associates for a 26-story, 195-unit mixed-use building, with 134,770 square feet of commercial space, at 115-123 Delancey Street.
143 East 60th Street [Curbed]: World Wide Group is planning a large tower between East 60th and 61st Streets between Lexington and 3rd Avenues. World Wide owns the low-rise buildings spanning 143-155 East 60th Street, but hasn’t acquired the structure fronting Lexington Avenue, at No. 767.
27-45 Jackson Avenue [The Court Square Blog]: Construction has reached street level at 42-57 Hunter Street, in Long Island City, the site of the eight-story component of the planned Aloft Hotel — a 22-story, 176-room building that will front 27-45 Jackson Avenue. Excavation is underway on Jackson, and the project is to be delivered in the Spring 2016.
280 Cadman Plaza West [The Architect’s Newspaper]: Marvel Architects has released updated renderings of Hudson Companies’ 30-story, 132-unit condo-cum-library building to be built at 280 Cadman Plaza West, in Brooklyn Heights. The building will rise in place of the old 60,000-square foot Brooklyn Heights branch of the Brooklyn Public Library, which was falling into disrepair. “The designs [are] very preliminary and subject to change,” the architect warned, with the project expected to break ground in 2016.
