Construction is wrapping on the four-story, 60-unit residential project under development at 359 Halsey Street, located on the southern end of downtown Newark, N.J. The 63,030-square-foot building is dubbed The Residences at Symphony Hall and will contain a mix of one- and two-bedroom rental apartments, Jersey Digs reported. All of the apartments will be affordable, and 25 percent of them, or 15 units, will be designated to individuals with mental illness, homelessness or disability.
The developers are New Jersey-based Ingerman, Pennsylvania-based BCM Affordable Housing and the Actors Fund Housing Development Corporation, in addition to other supporters. New Jersey-based architecture firm Haley Donovan is the architect. Completion is expected this spring.
