Permits have been filed for a new seven-story condominium building at 962 Bushwick Avenue, in Bushwick, Brooklyn. The project would replace a three-story residential structure. The site is four blocks away from the Gates Avenue subway station on Broadway, serviced by the J, M, and Z trains. Plenty of restaurants and shops dominate the vicinity, including a grocery store.
The 75-foot tall structure will yield 52,000 square feet of space. 40,700 square feet will be dedicated to residential use, and 11,300 square feet will be occupied by a community facility. Details of what that will be are not specified, but it’s possibly going to be utilized by the neighboring Calvary and Saint Cyprian’s Church.
Fifteen dwelling units will be created by the development, with an average living space of 2,713 square feet apiece, which strongly implies condominiums. Plans include two duplex apartments, both occupying the second and third floor.
Think Architecture & Design PLLC will be responsible for the design, and Royalton Capital is developing.
Demolition permits have not been filed, and the expected completion date has not been announced.

I feel that they should put a stop from letting them build these condominiums and leave it brooklyn like it is. Theses tall buildings dont belong here it ruines Brooklyn.
Joey, I totally agree with you but very sadly, neither the landlords or the city care what you or I think or say on this matter, as they are steadily pushing out even more so called minorities hoping to drawn Caucasians back to the area (it WILL work for a certain period of time, until they start upping the rent on their bread and butter, and the L Train goes out of service in 2019).
A true disgrace but when it comes back to bite them BIG time, we’ll see just how funny they think it is then.
With all the construction going on, in the next 5 – 10 years there will be a huge slowdown, since the construction is rapidly increasing, crane permits are at an all time high, more and more companies are rapidly expanding and needing more space, affordable housing market is insane, this will all cause the downfall and collapse of the unions and construction industry. I have been in it for almost 18 years now, and I am almost exclusively involved with any NYC Emergency Work as their Demo contractor. I have been onscene whenever a building collapse, gas explosion ( Harlem 116th St, JFK HS Science Lab) working hand in hand with FDNY/NYPD to Search/Rescue/Remove/Cleanup Extensive damages and I have seen crazy things that give me chills. There will be an end to the laborer in the next 10 years, too much work is being done in a dangerous manner, I rather be safe and get job done without any injuries or deaths, Look at what happened last week with 2 laborers dead on jobsites in manhattan. It is very scary how some companies push the envelope to the point where someone always gets hurt. We need to be on top of these companies/owners more, and to provide every worker on a jobsite with proper training, not just a bullshit 5 minute safety meeting. A lot of these guys don’t even speak English, and are not trained to be using equipment, or even trained to do the work they are there for. All they say is yes, I know how to do this, which is a lie, and no one says boo until he dies. Real sad. Such a shame.
