Permits have been filed for a single-story commercial building at 8923 Flatlands Avenue in Canarsie, Brooklyn. The site is ten blocks away from the Rockaway Parkway Station, the final stop for the L train. Gabriel Development will be responsible for the project.
The 18-foot tall structure will have a substantial presence over the intersection of Flatlands Avenue and Remsen Avenue, a minor commercial area for the neighborhood. It will yield 9,260 square feet of commercial space. Onsite parking space will be made available for unspecified volunteers.
A & D Building Solutions will be responsible for the design.
The project replaces a two-story detached building with residences and a medical facility. Demolition permits were filed for two buildings on the site in November of 2017. The estimated completion date has not been announced.

Please pardon me for using your space: This is supertall for the ground, with a single-story commercial building. (Hello YIMBY)
