Permits have been filed for a two-story community facility building at 139-16 219th Street, in Laurelton, Queens. The site is five blocks away from the Laurelton Train Station, serviced by the Long Island Railroad. RCCG Destiny Sanctuary will be responsible for the development.

The 35-foot tall structure will yield 7,620 square feet for the community facility, along with 23 parking spaces on site. The building will create a sanctuary house of worship, kitchen, administrative offices, prayer rooms, and an infant crying room.

Anetonne Architecture will be responsible for the design.

Demolition permits have not been filed for the existing building, and the estimated completion date has not been announced.

  1. Please pardon me for using your space: Totally agreed on your details. (Thank you)

CRAP. Like that community does not have enough “houses of worship”. Get ready for traffic, parking issues and noise. A GHETTO.

  3. I think we do need a community center but this doesn’t seem like an ideal location for it. I feel for the people living nearby. If anything it should be on a main road not a residential area.

To stick this type of complex in the middle of the block makes zero sense to me. Can anyone explain how this adds value to the neighborhood? Why wouldn’t this be placed on a main road? The very small town feel that Laurelton has magically maintained for decades is slowly being unraveled. Greedy developers purchase the land, knock down the homes and replace them with two family homes to cram more people and get more money. It’s absolutely heartbreaking to witness.

This is not needed on this block at all!!! The guy parks illegal cars in this yard and it claims to be a house of worship. Clearly this is for tax purposes. This is a very quite block. No need to ruin it with this kind of noise .
