Designed by Kossar + Garry Architects, new renderings offer a first look at the Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Epiphany in Crown Heights, Brooklyn. Positioned on a modest, interior lot at 716 Lincoln Place, the house of worship will rise two stories, with an additional cellar level below-ground as well as rooftop programming.
Demolition permits for an existing community facility were filed in February 2018.
The cellar will contain a flexible multi-purpose room, building mechanicals, storage area, and a small kitchen. Above, the building’s double height chapel will span both first and second floors of the structure.
A mezzanine level positioned above the first floor will incorporate a large open area with additional worship space and study areas. More classrooms will occupy the building’s second level along with a setback area with outdoor space and a rooftop garden. Additional outdoor space at the roof level includes fenced-in recreational space.
A final completion date was not included in the most recent batch of updates.
