Construction has begun on a mixed-use development at 299 Chauncey Street in Stuyvesant Heights, Brooklyn. Five units described as “individual mini dollhouses” will be added onto an existing 6,020-square-foot structure, originally built in 1925. The new development will be positioned on the eastern side of the property, bringing the total number of units up to nine, with retail on the ground floor at the corner. Prestige Equity Holdings and Wolf Group & Partners are the developers, with design and construction being handled by Brooklyn-based design firm Raab Interiors.
The five new units will be 500-square-foot duplexes with double-height ceilings and large windows overlooking Chauncey Street. Interiors show a modern and airy layout within the small floor plans.
The development is located in between Ralph Avenue and Howard Avenue. The nearest subway station is three blocks south, at Ralph Avenue, serviced by the A and C trains.
Completion is expected by winter 2020.

*** Bedford-Stuyvesant, This is NOT Stuyvesant Heights for the love of everything nice why do you guys always do that when reporting on a project in Bed-Stuy. Why? does it not sound appealing to Yimbys. Is it because of its trouble past won’t attract buyers/renters. Because I don’t understand why Bed-Stuy has to be one of the hottest neighbors in the city. Other than that, this is a nice addition to the neighborhood. If only they could of added another floor but its still great building.
This is really smart infill that exists on hundreds of blocks around Brooklyn. Many old garages that could easily have an apartment added above. That’s how you increase housing and LL income.
I was also going to say this isn’t Stuy Heights. So annoying to see people keep doing that.
